Fielder’s Choice Photography creates dramatic Sports Portraits—or “Sportraits”—for athletes throughout South Jersey, combining professional lighting, creative posing, and the personality of each athlete to create something far beyond the traditional sports picture. These aren't your typical stand-there-and-smile photos. Sportraits are designed to make athletes look and feel like the competitors they are—confident, powerful, focused, and proud of their sport.
What Is a Sportrait?
A Sportrait combines sports and portrait photography to create a professional portrait centered around the athlete.
Instead of photographing the athlete during live competition, a Sportrait session gives us the time and creative control to focus completely on the athlete—their uniform, equipment, personality, poses, expressions, and the details that make their sport part of who they are. Using professional off-camera lighting and creative techniques, I create images with a bold, polished look while still keeping the athlete authentic. Your sport. Your personality. Your Choice
A Session Built Around Your Athlete
No two athletes are exactly alike, so I don't believe every athlete should receive exactly the same photographs.
Each Sportrait session is built around the individual athlete and can incorporate:
- Different Uniforms
- Sports equipment
- Game gear
- Creative Props
- Multiple poses and expressions
- Professional lighting and smoke
- Dramatic and creative portraits
- Personality-driven images
- Indoor or outdoor locations as well as in studio

Sports become a huge part of an athlete's life. There are practices, early mornings, late nights, tournaments, meets, wins, losses, teammates, coaches, friendships, and years of hard work behind that uniform. A Sportrait captures who your athlete is during this chapter of their life. Years from now, the uniform may no longer fit and the equipment may be packed away—but you'll still have photographs that capture the athlete they worked so hard to become.
